My part of the world got a lot more rain than normal this year and specifically during the month of September. If April showers bring May flowers then September showers must bring October mosquitos! My neighborhood has sprayed several times and yet the number of mosquitos is much higher than normal years. That has me searching for a solution for protection against bites and potential disease. I’ll share something that might help and I’ll include an Amazon link that earns me a few pennies. I did not receive anything else for writing this.
I have a large zapper on my deck, but it requires AC power. What I thought would be helpful is something portable that I could take anywhere with me. That led me to the BroElec Bug Zapper Camping Lamp which serves a dual purpose as an LED light and a bug zapper.
If I want to go to the beach at night, just bring it with me to light the way as well as kill those darned mosquitos! Should I choose to dine at an outdoor restaurant, I could easily bring it with me. Heck, I could even use it inside the house if some of those pests were able to sneak in. The USB-chargeable batteries claim to be good for 12 hours of light (and killing). That makes it easy to power up during the day so it is ready for action at night.
Once the light does it’s job and kills mosquitos, there may be some cleanup required. The light is waterproof so you can easily rinse off the victims. Plus, you can use it in the rain. Of course there may not be too many flying pests if there is rain. Overall this is far cheaper, safer and easier than constantly applying bug spray!
