Upgrading Textures Unleashed Collections Web Pages
June 2, 2025

Any time I build a Web page, I do it in the best way possible at the time it is created. Ideally, it will be made in a way that is easy to update in the future, but that isn’t always possible. That was the case with the seamless textures collections we have on our Seamless Textures Unleashed site. Let me tell you about the changes, and then I have a special offer to share.

Each time a new collection was released, I had to build a new page for it. Yes, I was able to duplicate a page and just change the information for the new collection. This still could take time and, occasionally, I would miss something. Should I want to change the overall page layout, that meant I had to go back and change each page one by one. Whew, that’s a lot of work when we have 47 collections (and growing).

So a major project was undertaken to build the collection pages in a new way that makes it easier to add new collections and makes it far easier to update the layout of the pages. I’ll cover more of the technical details in a post on our Web Design Solutions Unleashed blog.

Let’s start with a screenshot of the previous version of the Volume 1: Wood collection page.

Volume 1: Wood Collection Page - Old

The old page wasn’t bad, but there were a few things that I felt could be improved visually. Plus, I wanted a new way to build these pages so I could update all of them at once. One thing that drove me crazy was the flawed formatting on the social sharing buttons. The tool used to create these failed to display the buttons with the correct styles.

The best tool to show off what is included in the collection is the PDF catalog and we’ve always provided a button to download the PDF. Yet this was an inconvenience for users to download the PDF, look it over and then purchase. These two issues were at the top of my list as the collections were redesigned.

Now let’s look at the current version of the Volume 1: Wood collection page. I’ll describe the changes after the screenshot.

Volume 1: Wood Collection - New

One change that isn’t obvious from the screenshot relates to the graphic at the top of the page showing all the textures. In the earlier versions of pages, the graphic was saved in JPG format so there was no transparency. This meant a white area would appear at the bottom right of the graphic. Now they are saved in WebP format with transparency. It doesn’t show in this example because the number of textures comes out perfectly to 5 rows.

In the next section, you’ll note the social media sharing buttons are styled correctly and now they are only icons instead of being spelled out. There are some other formatting changes I plan to make to this section in the future, though it will be minimal.

Below that you’ll see the biggest change as the PDF is now embedded on the page so you can easily see all of the textures in the collection. It is a two page PDF and you can quickly flip to the second page to see the rest of the textures.

The buy boxes for the Pro and Lite collection are virtually identically other than a slight change in the formatting of the titles. Lastly is the slider showing other collections. Where the old slider only showed the image of the included textures, the new slider includes the title and a View Collection Details button. By adding these extra details, it is more obvious to visitors what is shown in the slider.

These changes make things easier for us to add more collections and change the layout. But the redesign also kept visitors in mind so that they get more information on the collections and to help make a purchase decision. This leads to the special offer I referenced earlier. We want you to check out the new collections layout and we want you to purchase. During the month of June 2025, we have put everything on sale for 50% off!

Check out the collections and add some textures to your artwork toolbox.
