Video toothbrush, speakers, driver’s license leak, measles, Windows taskbar, AI fears, iPhone 18 Pro, Range Rover Electric and Rocky Horror. I’ve been thinking about changes in communication in my lifetime. It used to be people would write letters that could take days to arrive. A phone call to someone more than a few miles away would be long distance and you’d pay for every minute you talked. Of course an international call was very expensive. Now we have email, text messaging and we make calls through the Internet. Every single day I write emails, send messages and make calls to people all over the world. Heck, those calls can even be video calls! In many cases there is no specific cost for those conversations. Yes, we pay for Internet or devices, but the messages/calls themselves often cost nothing. In many ways this is amazing progress. Yet being so connected can also be a burden at times. What changes will we see in the next ten years? I’m sure it is beyond what I could even guess right now.
