Tremendous Training: CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed

Hello Corelians,

First, a Disclaimer… Foster sent me a review copy of the Bundle. That said, I’ve seen other training packages from him, over many years. I’ve also seen other CorelDRAW training packages from other authors too.

If someone asked me these questions:

     New user: “How do I learn CorelDRAW?”

Intermediate user: “How can I learn MORE about CorelDRAW?”

After taking some time to look through the X6 version, it’s the best one to get. There aren’t huge changes in CorelDRAW X7/X8 anyway, relative to X6. I have X12 through X8 loaded on one system (Version 12 and X3 are under Virtualbox, a virtual machine with XP installed. I haven’t launched those versions for about a year.) After looking through the X6 materials, my biggest takeaways;

  1. Incredible amounts of information. Unmatched, by any measurement.
  2. Correct Information – this is huge. There is plenty of information out on the internet from other mysterious people about how to use CorelDRAW. Some of it’s good. A lot of it’s bad in my opinion, and technically wrong. The issue is that a new user doesn’t know the difference, until they become highly skilled users themselves.

Interestingly, there are 2 versions of Foster’s training Package:

CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed – A 3.61 GB downloadable file.

CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed Bundle – A 8.82 GB downloadable file. This one includes information about Photo-PAINT and some Advanced Coreldraw topics. I suggest this one, since anyone working with digital imagery will likely need to work with bitmaps as part of their work. In that regard, Photo-PAINT has met my needs for nearly 20 years. It’s like having a left AND right hand; a compelling pair of tools.

The videos that come with either of the above are excellent. Foster speaks clearly, and in a fashion that allows anyone to understand what’s going on. Even for those where English might not be their first language.

So, in summary: if you struggle with CorelDRAW, or feel like you’re scratching the surface of it’s potential? Pick up one of the packages above, and work your way through the training. Then, become graphically fearless. It’s the most affordable and comprehensive method available!
