As time passes, we have more and more data we want to store. The files we need to edit grow ever larger. So that we can handle all that data quickly, we need an SSD drive. Today I’ll tell you about one such drive that is available in three sizes. Yes, there will be links to Amazon for which I earn a tiny commission. No, I didn’t receive anything to write this.
There are two major flavors of SSD. One type is connected via a cable, such as SATA. They are fast, but the connection does limit the speed. Then there are M.2 drives that plug directly into the motherboard and your motherboard will need to support them with a slot. The Corsair Force Series MP600 drives do connect to your motherboard via an M.2 connection.
Three sizes are available and links to each are listed later in this post. Beyond the storage size, all of the drives have the same basic specs. They can perform a sequential read at 4,950 MB/s and a sequential write at 4,250 MB/s. Yes, that is at the very top end of today’s technology. Already mounted on the drive is a heat sink to help keep it running cool. My motherboard has it’s own heat sinks so these may or may not be necessary.
If you want to upgrade your storage in size or speed, give these drives a look to see if they are the right answer for you.
