Computer cases don’t seem to need to do much more than hold the components and look decent. Yet there is much more that is truly important. Today we’ll look at a really nice mid-tower case that is reasonably priced. I’ll include a link to Amazon that gets you the best price available while paying me a tiny commission. Beyond that, I didn’t get anything for writing about it.
If you are going to build a new computer, a very good choice for the case would be the Corsair 5000D Airflow Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX PC Case. First, it would look good under your desk or even on your desk. I’ve pictured the white version, but you can also purchase it in black. I prefer the white one simply because I’ve had a black case for well over a decade and the change would be nice.
This case is a bit larger than the typical mid-tower case so it has plenty of room for all but the biggest builds with numerous bells and whistles. It takes an ATX motherboard which is the full-size used in many computers. One of the biggest enemies of computers is heat and that’s where the “airflow” part of the name is important. This case was designed to move as much air as possible. Of course you could also install other cooling systems if you really want to crank up the speed.
You’ve got a tempered glass window on one side to show off the guts of the computer. So it doesn’t look messy inside, there are various features for helping you to route cables. The top of the case has a couple of USB-A ports, a USB-C port and a microphone/headphone jack.
While this may not be the cheapest case available, it is far from the most expensive. All that extra cooling makes it a great investment for your next computer!
