Extend Phone and Tablet Capability with USB Adapter

UGREEN Micro USB to USB Micro USB 2.0 OTG Cable 2 Pack
July 7, 2021

Some friends ask for my help recently and it was a situation I’d not encountered so the answer didn’t come quickly to me. After spending some time on it, they held up a small adapter and the light bulb came on. Today I’ll tell you a bit about one such adapter and how it could come in quite handy. I’ll include Amazon links that pay me a few pennies if you decide to use them for purchase. No, I didn’t get my own inexpensive adapter for this.

Here is the issue we were trying to solve. The friends don’t own a computer. Yes, they’ve been told on numerous occasions they need to get one for a number of reasons. In the short term, they need a way to access photo and video files stored on a flash drive. Those files came from a variety of cameras they own and I helped get them from the cameras to the flash drive.

That’s where the UGREEN Micro USB to USB Micro USB 2.0 OTG Cable 2 Pack comes into play. The micro USB end plugs into their phones (note this isn’t something for all phones). Then they put the flash drive in the USB port on the other end of the adapter. Even better, this is a 2-pack so each of them has their own adapter.

This isn’t a fancy product with a long list of features. It simply allows you to connect USB devices to a micro USB port. Given the price, it is the perfect solution for them at least until I can finally convince them to get a computer. It might also be a good idea for them (or for you) to get an extra SanDisk 128GB Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive or two.
