MysticThumbs Provides Thumbnails For Many Graphic Formats

May 19, 2012

Being able to see thumbnails of files is very important to artists. That has been evident by those having issues seeing thumbnails for CDR files. No, I don’t have that issue. They work great for me. Yes, I know they don’t work for all users. If I can come up with a rock solid set of instructions for how to make them work, I will. As of now, that can’t be done.

Even for those who do have working thumbnails for CDR files, there are frustrations that there are no thumbnails for other graphic formats. One way to get support for a long list of formats is a product called MysticThumbs. At the end of this post is a list of every format they claim to support and CDR is just one of them. As my thumbnails work great for CDR files, I can’t tell you how their version works or what versions are supported.

Support for these thumbnail formats is installed into Windows. That means you see the thumbnails in Windows Explorer as well as any Open/Save dialog boxes that use Windows Common Dialogs (most software). You would also see them in Corel CONNECT. There is a free trial available and then you’ll have to pay for a registered copy. Given the number of formats supported, it is well worth the money!
