Control the Power Strip With Alexa

September 19, 2018

I’ve written a number of posts about Alexa devices and things you can control with them. In each previous article, only a single thing could be controlled. Today I’ll share a device that can control multiple devices. There will be a link for which I earn a tiny commission. No, I didn’t get a free one.

I have several individual plugs I can control with Alexa. Each plug has a separate name. Everything I’ve gotten so far is from TP-Link’s Kasa family so that I use a single app to control them all. Now the TP-Link folks have released a power strip where each plug can be controlled individually.

Not only do you have six outlets that can be individually controlled, you also have three USB ports for charging your other devices. It also monitors the energy used by each of the outlets. For those who want to control a few devices with Alexa, Google Assitant or Microsoft Cortana; this is the power strip for you.
