When shopping for computer parts, there is always a tough decision between power and price. Buying the most powerful part is typically also expensive. Below that top end are lots of options and today we’ll look at a graphics card in that realm. Yes, there is an Amazon link that can deliver me a few bucks if you buy a card. No, unfortunately, I didn’t get a free card to write about it.
I won’t try to tell you that the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Super won’t take a big bite out of your wallet. Yet it delivers performance just a step down from the top end for a lot less money. Compare with the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080TI Overclocked if you want to see the price difference. This particular version of the card is even factory overclocked to deliver ever more performance. To be specific, the base clock of the “Super” card is 1650 MHz and this overclocked version is 1860 MHz.
For those who aren’t doing high-end graphics and/or gaming, this card is probably not the right answer. Cards with more power also produce more heat. This card uses what are called “axial-tech” fans to move more air at higher speeds without increasing noise levels. For those looking for more graphics power give the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Super a long look. Yes, it will be an investment though it could pay off with its performance.
