When looking at printers for an office, the price of the printer is certainly important. So is the quality of the output. But the sometimes hidden cost comes with replacing the ink. Today we’ll look at a printer that is perfect for a small office. While the initial cost is not bargain basement, the usage cost is much lower. Yes, there will be Amazon links from which I can make a nickel or two. No, I haven’t gotten any free printers or ink to write about it.
Most budget printers are limited to printing 8.5″ x 11″ (Letter) pages. Admittedly, that covers almost everything I need to print. But with the Brother MFC-J6545DW INKvestmentTank Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer, you can print up to 11″ x 17″ (Tabloid) pages. While you may not often need it, that extra size can come in very handy. It is an “all-in-one” device so it can also copy, scan and fax. I’ve found the Brother inkjets I’ve owned to have very good image quality so I have no doubt this one is very good as well.
You can connect via USB, Ethernet and WiFi. Overall, a very versatile printer. But where it gets its value is from the very large ink tanks. Brother claims that it comes with a year of ink in the box. Of course that depends on how much you print and what is on the pages you print.
Changing the ink cartridges is as easy as most other inkjet printers. There is also an internal ink tank to hold even more. The result is that your cost per page should be much lower than printers using smaller cartridges you have to replace often. Of course the replacement cartridges are more expensive because they do hold so much and last so long. How do you know where you stand? The screen will display an estimated number of pages left for each ink color.
If you’re in the market for a new printer for your office, give the Brother MFC-J6545DW INKvestmentTank Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer a long look. It could be the perfect fit for you!
