Most of us have lived a life connected to the power grid. Should there be a power outage, it is a major inconvenience to say the least. Going camping often means going without power at all, at least that has often been the case for me. Today we’ll look at a way to keep the power going during a power outage, camping and much more. I’ll include a link to order from Amazon that gets you the best deal possible and can earn me a tiny commission. Nothing else has been received for writing this.
I’ll admit the Anker 535 Solar Generator and Powerhouse 512Wh is a bit expensive and I’m not sure how often I’d use it. So right now it is something that I would like to have, but I won’t be ordering it anytime soon. Most likely you are familiar with gasoline powered generators and you may even have one. They deliver power, but you have to provide gasoline and put up with some noise. This Powerhouse is quiet and you can keep it powered with the sun!
There are really two major components here and it is possible to order them separately. There is the Anker 535 Portable Power Station which can be loaded with power in a variety of ways. More about this in a bit. Along with that is the Anker 625 Solar Panel with Adjustable Kickstand which is one way to add power to the power station. I really like the solar panel option as you may be in a situation where there is no way to plug in the power station and thus the solar panels are a way to keep the power flowing.
On the power station are four AC plugs delivering up to 100W of power. One way to power it up is to plug it in and it can get to 80% charge in about 2.5 hours. That same 80% can be achieved in four hours of direct sunlight with the solar panels. There are three standard USB charging ports (2.4A) and one USB-C charging port (3A) along with four AC outlets.
If you want to bring along lights, phones, tablets, TVs, a small refrigerator and other items on a camping trip; you’ll definitely want to check out the power station. It could also come in quite handy if you deal with power outages at home. For those who want more power, there are other models that have a higher capacity and they come with a higher price.
