We’ve talked about external hard drives more times that I can count. Most of the time it is because the features have improved since the last look. This time is different as it is a “collectible” drive. Yes, there will be an Amazon link if you want to add it to your collection and that helps me collect a few pennies. I have not receive anything else for writing this.
I’ve seen all of the Star Wars movies, some several times. But I have to admit, I’ve not watched the Mandalorian even though I could if I chose. One of these days I’ll get around to watching and then maybe I’ll fully understand more about the hard drive I’m discussing today.
The idea is that the Seagate FireCuda Beskar Ingot External 2 TB Hard Drive looks similar to the Beskar ingots depicted in the Mandalorian show. There are symbols on the case that also tie it to the show. Keep in mind, you pay a small premium for the Star Wars licensing.
Now that we’ve covered the “collectible” part, let’s talk about the drive. It is only available right now in the 2 TB size. That’s fine for most, but it is a little surprising that larger sizes aren’t available. A blue RGB lighting strip is on one end to add a little more bling to it. The interface is USB 3.0 and it has a traditional USB Type A connector. It spins at 7200 RPM.
Overall, it is a good drive and would make for a great conversation starter if you bring it among other Star Wars (especially Mandalorian) fans.
