As a child, video calls and meetings were only something seen on the Jetsons. Now they happen most every single day for me and I’m sure they are more common for all of you. Today we’ll look at a webcam that can improve those calls for you while not breaking the bank. Yes, I’ll include links to purchase from Amazon that earn me a tiny commission. No, I wasn’t provided with anything else.
Most of us already have a webcam, whether it is a standalone or integrated into a laptop. Given the increasing importance of providing good audio and video, is the webcam you have good enough? If it’s been a few years, you should definitely think about getting a new webcam. If so, the Ausdom AW651 may be the perfect solution for you.
It features “2K” resolution which means 2592×1944 pixel lens that also captures video in HDR. That means a clear image in the best color possible. In most cases, using 1080p video at 60 fps is what you’ll use and it does a great job. The field of view can be adjusted from 60 degrees to 75 degrees if you need to incorporate a wider view. There is autofocusing to make sure that you are captured clearly. Microphones are on both sides of the camera and they include noise reduction so they only pick up the sound you want heard. If you are concerned about privacy, there is a slider that can block the camera when not in use.
A small detail that is very nice is the included tripod. There may be times when you don’t want the camera mounted on top of your monitor or laptop. Having the small tripod makes it easy to mount and position the camera exactly where you want it. I’m writing this during Amazon’s Prime Days and the price is showing a nice discount with an additional 20% off available with a coupon. I can’t promise that will be available when you look, it does make this webcam a great deal right now!
