Some users are sad a printed clipart book doesn’t come with X5.
But after using ROMcat, looking at a physical book is painful IMO. I’ve never bothered with the books since. Here’s why;
When a customer comes in and wants a “tree” for his business card, I let ROMcat do the hard work by search through various clipart disks at once, finding trees from various categories per disk.
This means that a tree you desire might be in a place in one of the physical books you wouldn’t expect.
With ROMcat, you see images based on keywords.
There’s no way a physical book will ever touch that convenience… and I didn’t know about ROMcat until I saw Foster demo it.
look at image below, notice the slider at right. By searching for “tree” I get so many results there’s no other better way. In fact… ROMcat has allowed me to find “trees” that i would not normally find.
I get 863 examples returned…. and can see 80 thumbs at a time on screen when maximized. This is based on the 4 clipart disk I have, If I had all of them since Ver 8, holy cow…
This is how I want customers to browse, since it’s faster to zero in on what they want. They are picking a tree visually, regardless of single category a tree might be forced into in a printed book.
