Sometimes there are things in CorelDRAW that seem so basic because we’ve been using them for years that we forget that others users aren’t aware of those settings. One that came to mind today was the Behind Fill option on outlines.
With an object selected, press the F12 key to bring up the Outline Pen dialog box. Near the bottom right is a checkbox for Behind fill. If the object is filled, it will only display the outer half of the outline as the fill will cover the inner half. That means if you have a 4 point outline, only 2 points will be visible.
This option is especially handy when working with fancy fonts. By putting the outline behind the fill, the entire font character is visible with the fill. The outline provides an accent color outside of the character.
