I recently talked to a customer who was trying to figure out how to accomplish a specific task. This customer admitted to having several of my CorelDRAW Unleashed books. As the desired task was being described, I heard the sentence “I wish CorelDRAW had a Trim command like this other software I use.”

I informed the customer that CorelDRAW does indeed have a Trim command and I thought it was exactly what was needed for the task. Of course I also told the customer that the workings of Trim were described in detail in my CorelDRAW Unleashed books.

That leads me to a couple of tips I want to pass along today. Nearly every project I complete in CorelDRAW will include using Weld, Trim or Intersect. Often they are all used quite a lot. If you aren’t using these commands regularly, you really should investigate them to see if they would be helpful to you. Even more troubling to me was knowing that a valued customer wasn’t using the resources I provide. I know I have gotten a training product before and not spent as much time as I should with it. If that is the case with one of my CorelDRAW Unleashed books, try to find some time to study it in the near future. While it takes time to study it, you will learn ways to increase your productivity so you’ll get the time returned.
