CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed Multimedia Training Progress Update

July 21, 2012

When I am working on a project with such a long timeline as CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed, it is very difficult to provide an exact timeframe for release until it is very close to completion. The simple answer is that it will be done when it is done. I want to make sure I include as much helpful information as possible so that you can get the most from it.

With most lessons, my starting point is the text from the previous version. With a small number of lessons, the changes are minimal simply because that functionality has seen few changes since the last version of CorelDRAW. Even as I go though this existing information, I am amazed at the things that had been covered. I’ll have notes about things I need to make sure to include in the updated lesson only to find out that it was already covered.

Other lessons can be on the exact same topic and yet they require nearly a complete re-write. A good example of this was the lesson on Color Management when comparing CorelDRAW X4 Unleashed and CorelDRAW X5 Unleashed. A quick glance and the information covered may look identical and yet almost everything was completely different. Areas such as Styles in CorelDRAW X6 fall into this same category of drastic change.

Along with updated text, I also recapture every screen shot even though it may appear to be exactly the same as before. Other graphics are updated and of course many new ones are added as needed for new features or a more complete explanation of the topic being covered.

When I get farther in the process, the process of laying out pages begins. Quite a few have been laid out so far and I am thrilled with how everything looks. I hope you’ll agree that it will be the best looking book I’ve created. Movies will be captured with the latest version of Camtasia and it will allow the tutorial movies to be better than ever.

Of course the most important information I can give you is a timeframe. It will definitely be released before the end of October and I’m hoping much sooner. I guarantee I want it done just as much as any of you wants the information it contains. The CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed Web page will always have updated information on the titles available (or suggested release dates). Once I have a Table of Contents to post from each title, it will also be linked from that page.

At the top of this post, I have included the main logo and it will be used throughout the book. It features a coyote that we so commonly see and hear in the Arizona desert. Rare is there a night when I don’t hear some howling. I hope that the information I deliver in the CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed Series of Multimedia Training will have you climbing to the top of your artistic mountain and howling with pleasure at the productivity you’ve gained.
