Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 Adds Features and Decreases Size

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2

It was just about a year ago when I wrote a lengthy post about how much I enjoyed my Samsung Galaxy Watch. Samsung has tweaked their offerings and the latest is smaller overall with the same size screen. Let’s go over some of the updates. Yes, there is an Amazon link from which I can earn a few pennies. No, I didn’t get a free watch.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2One way the size was decreased in the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 was to remove the physical rotating bevel. Instead it has a digital rotating bezel. This gives the same functionality in a much smaller package.

You might think the screen itself is smaller and it has actually grown by .1″ over the watch I got. Yet the overall size went form 46mm x 49mm x 13mm to 40mm x 40mm x 10.9mml. Weight went from 63 grams to 26 grams. That is a very serious diet considering the screen is actually bigger!

Yes, it still tracks all your workouts and that is probably what I enjoy the most about it. There are still a lot of watch faces you can select and now you can use a photo to have it create a face to match the photo. A new electrocardiogram sensor was added for detecting signs of atrial fibrillation. The bad part is that it won’t be available right now as Samsung needs to do more research first.

All of these changes are really great. I won’t be ditching my current watch and getting a new one just yet, but I’d definitely choose this if I was buying a new watch.
