You’re sitting in a public place like an airport and your phone is running out of juice. Looking around, you see a USB port to plug in and juice up. But is it safe to do that? I’ve share an inexpensive tool to protect your devices and that will include an Amazon link for which I receive a few pennies. I have not receive anything for writing this post.
USB is designed to have wires dedicated to data and wires dedicated to power. Even though it may be unlikely, a public USB port could pull data from your device. The PortaPow USB Data Blocker is a small adapter that doesn’t include the wires for data. Therefore, it will only allow power to get to your device. It is small. It is inexpensive. But the most important part is that it protects you from hackers when public charging. Get one or more to keep yourself protected!
