Pump Up The Volume With Sonos Arc Smart Soundbar

Sonos Arc - Premium Smart soundbar for TV
July 29, 2020

Recently I’ve watched some blockbuster movies on a TV with no external speakers. While I enjoyed the movies, something was lacking without the big sound. I’m all for a nice surround sound stereo system connected to a TV to get that big sound, though I realize it isn’t always possible. Today we’ll look at a more compact solution that packs a big sonic punch. Yes, I’ll include Amazon links that pay me a tiny commission. No, I didn’t get a free speaker or anything else for writing about it.

Enter the Sonic Arc soundbar. One thing I love about it is that it has Alexa embedded so you can control it via voice commands. While that doesn’t make it sound any better, it does simplify interacting with it.

It is a 45 inch long cylinder, 4.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall. As you can see from the main photo, you can mount it on a wall if you so desire. You can choose from white or black. Inside the enclosure are eight elliptical woofers and three silk-dome tweeters. Together they provide 5.0 surround sound.

There are three different configurations, especially useful if you want a subwoofer.

If you choose one of the sets, the subwoofer and/or satellite speakers connect wirelessly to the Sonos Arc. Once connected, you can use Enhanced Trueplay tuning to optimize the sound for your room. Then you’ll get Dolby Atmos sound where it is supported.

For those looking for big sound without a complete stereo system, the Sonos Arc is a great solution.
