Every time I think about moving large amounts of data around, I go back to the days of SyQuest drives that held a whopping 44 MB of data. Then I look at the 64 GB USB key plugged into my computer right now. We’ve come a long way. Today I’m going to look at some large and durable portable hard drives when even a USB key isn’t enough. Yes, I’ll have links to purchase the drives on Amazon that pay me a small commission. No, I didn’t get anything for free.

Over the years I’ve had a variety of external hard drives. Prices have gone down, sizes have gone up and the latest offering from Western Digital is very durable. You’ll find the WD Black P10 Game Drive Portable External Hard Drive is available in three sizes: 2TB, 4TB and 5TB.

It has gaming in the name and can be used to connect to an Xbox One or PS4. But it works just fine connecting to a computer for games or just regular old data. So don’t let the gaming in the name keep you away if you aren’t a gamer.

The drive connects via USB 3.0 with speeds up to 140 MB/s and weighs about half a pound. If you are looking for a way to easily and affordably move large amounts of data between locations, you’ll want to gives these drives a look!
