Anytime you purchase a printer, you need to consider two separate costs. First is the actual cost of the printer. Then you have to know the cost per page printed as the ink or toner could be quite expensive. Today we’re going to look at a printer that covers the first two years of printing in the cost of the printer. Yes, there is some fine print. I’ll include an Amazon link for which I get a very small commission and sadly I didn’t get a printer for writing this.
Today we’re taking a look at the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850 printer pictured above. It has everything you want in a printer for a small office. You can connect wirelessly or via Ethernet cable. It prints borderless prints up to 8.5″ x 14″ while supporting double-sided printing and a 500 sheet tray. As an All-in-One, it can also scan, copy and fax. Does anyone fax anymore?
Now let’s talk about their two year unlimited ink promo. Rather than me interpreting it for you, I’m including a graphic where Shaq explains it complete with all the fine print.
Yes, the purchase price of this printer might initially seem like more than you want to spend. But when you factor in the savings on purchasing ink for the first two years it isn’t nearly as high. After those two years, refilling the ink is going to be less than a typically ink jet with high-priced cartridges. If your office (even at home) needs a good printer to churn out great looking pages, this is a great option. Heck, PC Magazine gave it their Editor’s Choice.
