Fast and Secure Portable Data With Samsung T7 Touch SSD

When you need to take a large amount of data with you, how do you do it? I’ve used numerous methods over the years and a USB flash drive is one of the better choices. But They don’t always have the capacity and security that is desired so today we’ll look at another option. Yes, I’ll include an Amazon link that earns me a tiny commission. No, I didn’t receive anything for writing this.

Our goal here is portability so let’s first look at the size of the Samsung T7 Touch Portable SSD. It measures 3.35″ x 2.24″ x .31″. In short, it is smaller than your phone. The weight is only two ounces so you might not even know it is in your pocket. One problem I’ve had with portable hard drives in the past is that they would fail after getting banged up a bit. This is an SSD drive so it is far more durable since it has no moving parts.

Now let’s talk about speed. The key is connecting with USB 3.1 if you want to get the fastest speed. In those cases, it can read up to 1050 MB/s and write up to 1000 MB/s. Of course if you connect with an older USB interface, speeds will be slower. Another downside of a portable drive is that someone can easily take all your data. While someone could take the drive, it features both fingerprint and password security so your data can’t be easily accessed by a thief.

There are three sizes of the drive available at very reasonable price points. So if you’re looking to take your data on the go, get one of these drive and you’ll be all set.
