Recently I went on a weekend road trip and it involved going through some areas where phone service is weak or non-existent. This meant my phone battery was using power a lot more than normal. That’s when I pulled out something I found in my Christmas stocking. It is a keychain power source named Power Pod. It added 10-15% of power to my phone. That’s better than nothing, but not as much as I would have liked. Therefore I’ve researched a product that can deliver more power, though it is also a bit larger. Look at the size of your phone and keep in mind that a portion of that size is taken up by a battery. Let’s use the size of 3000-4000 mAh as the rough size of most phone batteries. The Power Pod holds 800 mAh so there is no surprise it only can provide a small charge to a phone. Of course it is no bigger than a car key fob so it can easily be kept on your keychain. If you really want an emergency power source, you just have to have something physically large enough to hold a bigger battery. For that reason, I’m suggesting the Outze Mini Power Bank as a solution.

There is no doubt the Outze Mini Power Bank is larger as you can see in the diagrams above. Within that larger size, it holds 10,000 mAh so it should be able to fill most phones at least two times from empty. I don’t think I’d want to keep it in my pocket due to its size, but the carabiner makes it easy to clip on something so it can be with me.

One other difference is that you’ll need a cable to plug into the Outze Mini Power Bank and deliver the juice to your phone or tablet. I have several multi charger cables and love them! I wish my solution was as compact as the Power Pod. Unfortunately it just isn’t possible to get enough power without having a bigger device. The Outze Mini Power Bank is the best solution I’ve found that is both convenient and provides enough power.
