I’ve been suggesting for years that you should have a good SSD drive in your system. As time has passed, they’ve gotten larger and faster. Today we’ll look at a series of drives that delivers good speed, large sizes and reasonable pricing. Yes, there will be Amazon links making it easy for you to order and I’ll get a tiny commission if you do so. No, I didn’t receive anything else for writing this.
Let’s just clarify that we’re talking about an M.2 SSD drive that installs directly on a motherboard as well in some laptops. Technically it is a Gen 3 PCIe NBMe interface if you want to verify it will work in your computer. It moves data fast, up to 3400 MB/s sequential read and 3000 MB/s sequential write. That’s likely faster (even much faster) than what you have now, but it is not as fast as some other SSD drive.
So why choose this drive? It comes with a five year warranty which is longer than almost any other SSD drives. Plus, the prices are very good when compared with the competition. That is especially true if you are looking for a bigger drive for storing data. Each of the four sizes is listed and linked below.
- Corsair MP400 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD
- Corsair MP400 2TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD
- Corsair MP400 4TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD
- Corsair MP400 8TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD
Yes, the 8TB drive is expensive. But if you want a lot of fast storage, it is one of the best options available. If I were buying a drive for myself, I’d like go for either the 2TB or 4TB as they provide the best price/performance for what I need.
